Questions buyers ask

Eight short answers. Prices and delivery terms are shown beside the packages.

Does “New York” mean the state or New York City?

New York State is the default scope. New York City is one part of it; use the separate New York City switch for its five boroughs. Browsable geography does not establish product coverage.

Can I see records before I buy?

Read the field dictionary on the sample page, or sign in to check available account samples. Account sample downloads require CAPTCHA and are subject to per-account limits. Development demo rows are clearly labelled fictional.

What counts as one record?

A contact record describes an agent or broker at an office. City and county refer to the office address, not service area. Counts describe records in a specific product; overlapping lists should not be added together.

How current is the data?

Database refresh, email check, license check and source observation are separate dates. Ask support for the dates relevant to your chosen package.

Which package should I choose?

Compare the Email Database and Complete Database by field. The pricing page shows included columns and published prices for available products. A column may be included even when some records have no value.

How is the file delivered?

Access orders and assigned downloads from your account. Contact support with questions about delivery, file formats or later updates for your chosen package.

What if records bounce or are wrong?

Send a data issue or correction request through the contact page, including the record ID and the problem you found. Existing customers can also use account support. Review the terms for applicable policies.

Can I import this into my email platform?

Check your platform’s rules before importing third-party lists. A contact record does not establish consent, and a checked email does not guarantee delivery.

City or county coverage?

Start with the office locations you want to reach. A city list narrows your audience to offices in that place. A county list covers the larger county boundary. Neither should be described as the territory an agent serves.

New York City has five boroughs. Manhattan corresponds to New York County, Brooklyn to Kings County, Staten Island to Richmond County, the Bronx to Bronx County and Queens to Queens County. Borough and county aliases select the same area.

Albany city and Albany County are separate choices. Rochester city in Monroe County is different from Rochester town in Ulster County. Check the location type and county beside every result.

Selecting a city inside a selected county creates overlap. Each contact must count once across the union; adding the displayed city and county totals would overstate the audience. Combined-area purchasing requires a confirmed custom quote.

Missing fields and freshness

An included column is a place to store a value, not a promise that every row contains one. Population rate is the share of rows with a non-empty value. Ask for that rate for the package and area you are evaluating.

Database refresh describes when a file was rebuilt. Email check describes when addresses were tested. License check describes comparison with a licensing source. Source observation describes when a record was seen. These events can happen at different times.

A checked address may still bounce, be filtered or belong to someone who has moved. A license number alone does not establish an active license. Inspect the sample, confirm dates and check the terms before deciding.

Preparing a contact CSV

Keep the original file unchanged and work from a copy. Open the file with a CSV-aware spreadsheet or importer and treat phone numbers, ZIP codes and license identifiers as text so formatting is preserved.

Review the column dictionary. Map office city and office county to office-location fields, rather than service-area fields. Keep missing values blank; do not guess addresses, phone numbers or licenses.

Deduplicate by a stable contact identifier when available and retain an internal suppression list. Check that your email platform permits the source and type of list before uploading. Import a small permitted batch first and review the field mapping.

Before outreach, prepare clear sender details and a working opt-out process. Review the official guidance and your platform’s current rules. A database purchase does not establish permission to contact every record.

Open the sample file. Decide after.

Inspect the sample fields, then compare the two New York packages side by side.
